The
Yamaha Diversion Club Nederland (YDCN) is a Dutch motorcycle club for lovers and owners of Yamaha Diversion motorcycles. The club is founded in 1994 and has over 700 members begin 2002. The Diversion is a motorcycle for everyone. That's good to see within our members, man and woman (15%), young and old, poor and rich. We are a national club and all our events take place all over the Netherlands.
Events
We have a fixed event schedule per year that starts with a NewYears Party. Till the first tourride on 2nd Eastern day we have 2 Regional Café's and in between we are with a stand on the traditional motorcycle exhibition in Utrecht. A bike is made for riding and ofcourse we do that by organizing 6 tourrides within the Netherlands and two long weekends. The Dutch weekend is always during the Ascensionday weekend, the foreign weekend in the first week of september. After the last tourride we continue with our Regional Café's and are we present on the motorcycle exhibition MotoRAI.
Technique
We spent the necessary time on technique. Per year we organized two Tooling evenings at Yamaha motordealers, one in spring and one in autumn. Self tooling is also possible on our FDK selftooling middays. Besides that we organize several special events like a sidecarday, whireless intercom testing, a Dynojetday, visits to TopSkin, BSM, TechnoFlex and so on.
Safety
We think that safe riding a bike is very important. Because not everyone books an advanced motorcycle training as easy for himself we try to organize an advanced motorcycle training as a club every year.
Clubnews
Members receive 4x a year our club magazin Diversiteiten. Members with access to internet also receive the YDCN Internet Newsletter several times per year with the latest news.
Website
Internet offers a lot of possibilities which cannot be offered on printed media. For example, after every YDCN event you can find a large photo report on the YDCN website. The website of the YDCN is extensive and is updated almost daily. Nearly all thinks that had to be done by phone or postage can now be arranged through the website or by email. The website is both for members as for non-members. Some parts of the website that might be interested for foreign Diversion owners are in english. If some interesting parts are not translated, that's mainly due to a lack of time. Besides the website we also maintain two mailinglists, one in the Dutch language and one in the English language. The website is maintained by Kim Kodde, also chairman of the YDCN.
