An improved Diversion 900 from Belgium (Renzo Franicevich)
Since summer 2001 I am the happy owner of a black Diversion 900. I bought it new at my local Yamaha dealer Jipeco in Braine-l'Alleud (Belgium). This is how the bike was looks like when it came out of the shop for the first time. Then I start thing, "what can I possibly improved to this bike?" Click for more details
I've been thinking a lot, searching information about the bike on the internet, through the links of the YDCN website (I've become a member very quickly) and finally this is how the bike is looking now. Click for more details
What did I modidy, improve and replace? A luggage sports racks (Bottlin-Dumoulin) on which I mounted a Kappa topcase adapter plate. The topcase is a K48 with integrated brake light. The adapter plate includes a contact for the brake light that connects to the topcase automatically when it is put in place. Click for more details
A higher touring windshield from MRA.

The original mirrors have been replaced (I did not like them very much) by fairing mirrors coming from a Fazer 600. The have been installed with a reinforcement metal plate at the inner side of the fairing at each side.

The under fairing comes from TCP Aerodynamics

Heated grips (original Yamaha) continuous variable with a regulator. A little peace of "hook and loop" fastener (3M Dual Lock) for the "push-to-talk" button of my PMR 446 set. It is very usefull to communicate woth my wife when we gon on tour, each on its own bike. The orginal orange/red hazard switch was modified and painted black to be used with the additional headlights. All electric modifications were made thanks to the chart I found in the Haynes manual. A new hazard switch (from an FJR1300) has been installed now in the fairing at the left side. Click for more details
Side reflector (from a Yamaha scooter) on the left and right side of the fork.

A mudguard extender (MPS).

Just fitted new tyres, Pirelli Dragon GTS

An additional second horn was also installed because I found the original one a little weak. Click for more details
Here you can see the K48 topcase with integrated brake light functioning.

An additional rear/break light unit replaces the original reflector to improve my visibulity.

For the same reason I added some additional reflectors and some 3M scotchlite reflecting stickers.

Coming to the suspension, I chose for the best, Ohlings. Click for more details
Fork springs and rear shock absorber with many setup possibilities. Click for more details
Since the Ohling's is installed I really have the impression to have another bike! Click for more details
To protect this expensive shock I fitted a rear hugger from NWS. Click for more details
The exhausts are specific for the Div 900 and come from the french manufacturer MIG. Click for more details
The last equipment I purchased is a GPS system. It is a GARMIN Street Pilot III with color monitor, autorouting and voice (on the bike it works with a headset). It comes with everything needed to download additional map data (streetlevel) from the included CD. You just select a destination and the StreetPilot automatically calculates a route (you can choose the shortest or the quickest) and provides turn-by-turn directions and voice prompts to guide you. It is IPX4 waterproof and can speak several languages. Click for more details
The power cable is connected to the onboard electrical system.

To fit it on the Diversion I used a handlebar mount from Touratech.

Now this handlebar mount is made to be fitted on enduro handlebars with a special bar of 12 mm. I used a part of a mountainbike handlebar to fit it on my Div. Click for more details
2 additional indicator LED's in the instrument cluster. The one is used for the additional headlights and the second one for the 2 "flash lights" I mounted in the original headlight assembly. They are quite usefull to attract attention and be more visible when I'm driving in the traffic jams on the Ring of Brussels. Click for more details
There is an additionnal switch on the handlebar for these "flash lights". Click for more details
What else did I change but is not visible :

Spark plugs : Splitfire Triple Platinum (lifetime warranty)
Airfilter : K & N
Magnetic oilfilter (Gericke)

The rest of the pictures speaks for themselves...
