This is my sixth years with my black Divvy. I am still enjoying every minutes riding on her. The bike given me any major mechanical problem even almost clocking 70 000 miles. Indeed very reliable & economical bike ridden here in Singapore.

I have just bought a black 2001 XJ900S Diversion. I am very satisfied with it's real street & touring capabilities. I would highly recommend to anybody who need a pratical & all-purpose bike for everyday usage. As Singapore is mapped at the equator, the weather condition permits me to ride my bike everyday of the year.
It's slim build make it very easy to manoveurs on the high traffic & congested street in Singapore. It's huge 24 litres petrol tank allows for long distance blasting to nighbouring countries. Everytime I refuelled my petrol, I would note down the mileage I have covered and the petrol the XJ consumed. And I realised that the XJ900S has a very low petrol consumption of approximately 5.28 litres per 100km / 62.14 miles or 1 litre per 18.92 km / 11.76 miles. Thus, for a full 24 litres the bike should have done approximately 454.26 km / 282.29 miles. (Pls note: riding style, speed & road condition will affect petrol consumption) In terms of petrol consumption my XJ is just as good as my buddies Honda Pan European ST1100 or Pan Pacific 800 or Africa Twin or Deuville NT650 or BMW R1100GS.......
I used to owe a 93' 145hp V-max and has ridden it for 7 years & clocked more than 71,000 miles. Usually when I travelled along a favourite bend along a highway at 120 km/h, my V-max started to wobbles. However, on my new XJ I can even negotiate it at 140 km/h without any hint of wobbling & still very stable. Although, the XJ900S is not a very powerful bike like my V-max, I can still ride safely and happily with satisfaction. **I have ask myself before, how many times in a year have I truely used the full horsepower of my V-max.**
On my XJ I installed an extended German MRA smoked-tinted windscreen, an extended Yamaha front mudguard, a Bagster full tank bra, two GIVI E21 side box, a E45 GIVI top box & customed made engine guard. I am not quite satisfy with the MRA windscreen, as the wind still hit on my helmet. Should anybody has any information about a taller windscreen please e-mail me.
The Diversion is truely a very pratical and all purpose bike for daily usage. THAT"S WHY THE SINGAPORE TRAFFIC POLICE IS USING IT!!
I invite anybody to e-mail me to share your experience.
I hoped that you could post my article on your wed. Hopefully one day I could also mail my photos to you.
Singapore - Singapore: Andy Teo [26-Nov-99]
Hi, I am Andy Teo. I just bought a 93 XJ600 seca II about 2 weeks back. I have been riding bikes for more than 18 years but, this bike really fascinates me with its look and power. I been reading up on its specs. mostly through the internet and am impressed that there are 3 clubs dedicated to this model. Too bad, Singapore doesn't have one. One thing though, there is a high level of buzziness emitting from the engine when I rode at between 3500-4000 rpm. Is there any solution to overcome this problem. Would greatly appreciate anyone's comments on this. Tks.
