Foreign Diversion Owners

I bought a second-hand 1992 Diversion 600 in September 2007 to tour Europe with some friends for three weeks. All my other bikes have been British 500 singles and BMW tourers (as well as a 1975 Honda CB550) so this was something novel to me. I found, though, that the riding position was a nice compromise between low and upright. I enjoyed this 15 year old Divvy enormously. Had no mechanical problems. Did up to 180kph here and there, and the high revving five gears were great on the twisties in the Alps and Dolomites. Fell off once briefly. I rode most of the three weeks without a rear shock, though, because the salt used against ice wasn't washed away properly and had rusted the footing of the monoshock right through. Fortunately it didn't seem to matter. The bike is now on shipboard coming back to Cape Town where I might sell it for a small profit and pay for the costs of the tour. Peter Merrington

I own a 900 Diversion (2000) and find it to be the most comfortable bike I have ever had the pleasure to ride. My brother's Honda Blackbird is much faster but I would not swap my Divi. I travel 220km's per day to work and back and I am not even tired when I get home at night. A 1200 Diversion would be great.
