Globale information

After Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and France it is now time for England for a long weekend tourride. We have choosen for Eastbourne, a seaside place on the south-east coast of England. It is situated in the district East Sussex, between the seaside places Hastings and Brighton. We stay there at a place called Pevensy, just outside Eastbourne. We selected Eastbourne because we could get help from Sue Schofield, founder of the English Diversion Owners Group (UK-DOG). Another reason for Eastbourne is that it is on a reasonable distance from the Netherlands for our first UK trip. In July this year we went with a few people to Eastbourne to meet Sue and to organize the trip. We got through a program then that we want to replay for you all in September. Due to circumstances though, Sue and her husband Charles won't be there as they have booked for a biketrip through France before we fixed the date of the Eastbourne weekend. But there will be enough chances to meet them as the YDCN has invited the UK-DOG to visit the Netherlands in 1998.

UK-DOG members and anyone interested is hereby invited to join us or to meet us. For UK-DOG members this also will be the first event, ever organized for them. The booking scheme is primairly set up for Dutch YDCN members but we can help you with booking the camping place or B&B accomodation. If you are interested, please write me an email or push on the "AANMELDEN" button. It will be nice to meet you!

Fast Ferry

We have choosen for the Fast Ferry because Hoek van Holland to Harwich is more expensive, cost more time (about 4 hours) and you have to take 3/4 of the M25 around London. The Ferry from Hoek van Holland is faster, bigger and brand new but the Fast Ferry from Oostende is also good for 70 km/h. These new ferries are great for trips between Engeland and the European countries.

Camping

camping Bay View, Pevensy

We stay at the camping Bay View, Old Martello Road, Pevensy Bay, East Sussex, BN24 6DX, United Kingdom. The phone number is (from Engeland) 01323-768688. It is a simple camping, flat grassland but a little bit rocky soil. It's near the coast (500m) so it can be windy. The costs per person per night are:
- Motorbike £ 1.35
- Adult £ 1.85
- Tent £ 2.15

Bed & Breakfast

We are working on a list with B&B accommodation in Pevensy. We also investigate an address for the whole group in Eastbourne. B&B accomodation will cost between £15-£20 per person per night.

Youth hostel

We have visit the youth hostel and think the place is not suitable for staying there, although it is an option. The bike is difficult to park their as it is situated outside Eastbourne on a 12% uphill road. The address is East Dean Rd, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN20 8ES, and the phone number is 01323-721081 (from Engeland).

Breakfast

Campers have diffirent options to take a breakfast. You can ofcourse make your own breakfast on the camping place but there is also a coffee shop at the ASDA Supermarket, twee roundabouts from the camping place. Another option is the café 'Snack Inn' in Pevensy where we meet each morning. They have coffee and breakfast.

Join us

Depending on what you want we may be able to help you with accomodation. If you only want to meet us at a special place like Boxhill, also fine, but let us know. The more people, the more fun.
